CPL-BNC-FF
Joins two BNC cables together, or changes the gender of a connector.
BNC connectors come in two incompatible impedances: 50 ohm (RF/data standard) and 75 ohm (video/broadcast standard) -- mixing them causes real signal loss (about 5% per mismatch point) from impedance-mismatch reflection, a common mistake when a 50 ohm BNC cable ends up on a 75 ohm CCTV run.

From the published standard
An inline coupler joins two cables of the same type to extend a run, or changes connector gender so two devices with the same plug type can meet. It is purely passive and neither boosts nor cleans the signal, so every extra coupler on a run adds a contact point that can degrade over time — a single cable of the right length is preferable whenever that is practical.
