A pass-through crimp tool lets all 8 wires be pushed all the way through the RJ45 plug body before trimming and crimping happen in one motion -- unlike traditional crimping, which requires trimming wires to their final length before insertion, this lowers the chance that one wire falls short of reaching the plug's contacts.
