CAP-HDMI-USB3
Brings an HDMI source into a computer as a camera, for recording or streaming.
HDMI Type-A carries 19 pins, not just the video signal: TMDS pairs for the picture itself, CEC (single-wire remote control across connected devices), DDC/+5V (the EDID handshake -- how the source learns which resolutions the display supports), and HPD (Hot Plug Detect -- how the source knows a display is connected at all). USB-A's 4 pins are the simple case: VBUS (+5V power), a D+/D- differential data pair, and GND.

From the published standard
The device re-encodes the incoming HDMI signal as video conforming to the standard USB Video Class (UVC), so the HDMI source appears to the system as an ordinary webcam with no special driver -- any streaming or recording software that supports webcams works with it directly. The real spec that matters is the maximum resolution and frame rate it supports.
