CAB-FAN-120
A fan fitted to the roof or side of a cabinet to move accumulated heat out. Networking equipment loses a noticeable amount of life in a sealed, unventilated cabinet.
120mm is a standard fan-frame size shared across enclosure and PC cooling fans -- exhausting the rising hot air near the top of a cabinet prevents heat buildup from mounted switches and power distribution units, which matters most in enclosed cabinets with little natural airflow.
A 1U rack-mount accessory that installs inside an existing cabinet — not a cabinet on its own.

From the published standard
A fan pulls the hot air rising off working equipment and pushes it out of the cabinet, stopping heat building up in an enclosed space. Networking equipment runs more reliably at a lower temperature; a sealed, unventilated cabinet can noticeably shorten the life of the gear inside it, especially in summer.
