9U wall-mounted cabinet that protects network equipment and keeps it in order.
One rack unit (1U) is 44.45mm under the EIA-310 standard, so this 9U cabinet's usable mounting height is about 400mm within the standard 19-inch width -- the 450mm depth is the real clearance behind the mounting rail for cabling and connected equipment.

A cabinet is built to the 19-inch standard: the mounting width is fixed worldwide and height is counted in U, one U being 44.45 mm. Any networking device marked 1U will mount in any 19-inch cabinet. Depth is what people forget: a deep device will not fit a shallow cabinet no matter how many free U there are, so depth has to be checked as well as U.
