EXT-KVM-300M
Sends an HDMI picture up to 300m over a single Cat6 network cable. Keyboard and mouse travel with the picture, so the source machine stays in the rack.
HDMI Type-A carries 19 pins, not just the video signal: TMDS pairs for the picture itself, CEC (single-wire remote control across connected devices), DDC/+5V (the EDID handshake -- how the source learns which resolutions the display supports), and HPD (Hot Plug Detect -- how the source knows a display is connected at all). The RJ45/Cat run uses one of two equivalent Ethernet wiring standards, T568A or T568B -- both perform identically, as long as both ends of the same cable use the same standard.
Two separate units
This product is physically two separate units, not one box: a transmitter near the signal source and a receiver near the display, joined by Cat6 network cable up to 300m.
Each unit typically needs its own DC power adapter, even where the product data records only one power port.

An extender is a pair of devices: a transmitter at the source and a receiver at the display. The transmitter re-encodes the HDMI signal so it can travel over long, inexpensive twisted-pair network cable, and the receiver rebuilds HDMI at the far end. That sidesteps the short copper limit of direct HDMI. The quoted distance assumes solid-core cable of at least Cat6; thin patch cable or copper-clad aluminium will fall short of it in practice.
